The Stability Project is a nonprofit educational platform. We exist for one reason: to give people dealing with credit card debt the same clear, unbiased information a good friend in the industry would — for free, with nothing to sell and no one keeping score.
Why we built this
When you’re carrying credit card debt, almost every “resource” you find online is trying to sell you something — a consolidation loan, a settlement program, a credit product with a referral fee attached. The advice bends toward whatever pays the person giving it.
We wanted a place where that pressure simply doesn’t exist. A place where you can learn how interest actually compounds, what your realistic options are — from budgeting changes to hardship programs to bankruptcy — and how to weigh them, at your own pace, without giving anyone your phone number first.
So we built one: fifteen short lessons, six calculators, and a self-assessment to help you find a starting point. Everything is free, everything runs in your browser, and nothing is designed to funnel you toward a product.

Debt happens to careful people. Medical bills, job loss, family emergencies — the reasons are rarely about character. We explain your situation and your options without lectures or shame.

Our lessons and calculators are grounded in established consumer-finance research and standard financial math, not fads or motivational slogans. Where honest experts disagree, we say so.
